Dealing with a Break Up

No matter which way you look at it dealing with a break up can be one of the most traumatic experiences a person can go through. To deal with a break up it is important not to become caught up in the pain in an endless downward spiral and continue normal life, otherwise you will dig yourself into a difficult to escape rut.

Going through a breakup can can make you feel the most low, sometimes with no one to talk to who you feel can empathize with your situation. This is one of the reasons that people really struggle through a break up. Dealing with break up pains on your own can be almost impossible at the start, but by sharing your feelings it can often make you understand the true size of the problem so you don't overestimate it. By continuing with your normal life you've won half the battle, slipping into a rut of negativity can hold you back for much longer and increase the overall pain.

Some relationships end becoming repitive and this can cause people to go looking for adventure. A lot of the time neither person knows what it is they really want or what is missing so they end up breaking up in a confusing fashion. After realizing what it is they truly miss a lot of relationships then get back together. However expressing how much you really love them over the phone is actually more likely to push them away. A good way of taking your mind of the current situation is to,

  • Drop by your friends and enjoy yourself. If you have a best friend you can tell anything then get some of the most emotionally demanding issues off your chest.
  • Don't get hung up on the pain of dealing with your break up, focus on the fun things and the good things you still have in your life. You can't change the situation so you can't let it eat you up too much.

Your true friends will understand the enormity of the issue you're going through and most likely try and help. Meeting new people is a great way to forget about the issues you're going through. I'm not saying it's a good idea to enter a rebound relationship, but being around other people will make you feel much better overall.
